This morning we met with Billi Bierling with “The Himalayan Database“. She represents a nonprofit organisation recording data related to records for all expeditions that have climbed in the Nepalese Himalaya. She lives in Kathmandu and is originally from Germany. Besides the work with the Himalayan Database she works with different projects related to her work as a journalist. Now the team is registered in their database…..just need to summit also!

Billi has summited five 8000m peaks and I asked her for advise based on her expeditions. This was so good to listen to. “Just go slow, be present and live with the mountain”. My memory tells me that I have heard this earlier on but its so good to her it again and obviously so hard to implement. We also chatted on topics such as why you climb high altitude mountains.
